Smile Check has 3 categories; Routine - all good, no cavities seen; Urgent, small cavities seen; Emergent – big cavities seen, infection seen, or if a student is in pain. It usually takes about 1-2 minutes per student to complete.

Out of an abundance of caution, Marysville School District will hold a 2-hour late start for all schools and transportation to out-of-district programs on Wednesday, 11/20, due to power outages and downed trees and power lines. There will be no AM Skill Center transportation or half-day preschool classes (AM or PM).
If you are interested the paperwork to register your child for a free dental screening during school hours on 12/11/2024 will be sent home this week. You can also register online using the QR code included in the attachments to this message.

These sessions will focus on traditional cultural dances from around the world -- Mexico, Thailand, etc. There are 25 available slots. Sign up at www.marisplaceforthearts.org/scholarships. Families must be able to pick up thier student/s at the end of classes.

The Marysville Community Food Bank Toy Store is gearing up for another season of giving to help families in the Marysville and Tulalip communities. The Toy Store is a community-led effort to support families during the holiday season. In addition to the Toy Store, a reminder that the Food Bank located behind St. Mary's Catholic Church on 88th and State Avenue is open to everyone who is in need of food any time of the year.
The Toy Store will be open from December 9 - 12. Families needing extra support must register to participate, which is open now through November 30. The registration flyer with a QR code is attached.

QCT Families and Community, our students have made some designs for our 'Buddy Benches' that we have on our Intermediate and Primary Playgrounds. We are wanting all of you to be included in voting on what ones you would like to see! Please choose one option for each playground. Voting will end tomorrow, 11/13/2024. Today is Picture Retakes! If you have purchased a photo packet please make sure your student has it with them when they get their retakes done. Photographers will be here from 10AM - 1PM. If you still wish to purchase pictures, there is information on how to do that in our office.
Dear Parent/Guardian, Lice is still very prevalent and we ask that you please check and monitor your child's head for any signs of lice and start treatment accordingly. The following information is provided to you about head lice, please keep for reference. Even though they do not jump or fly, they can spread from one student to another by sharing combs, brushes, clothing, hats, and in bedding. Head lice can happen to anyone. It is not a sign of poor health habits or being dirty. There are many lice treatment shampoos as well as manual methods of controlling lice. Another resource is the Tulalip Health Clinic. Bedding, clothing, and hats should be laundered in very hot water (120 degrees) on the same day your child is treated. Nits (eggs) are tiny, white eggs that attach to the hair shaft. The nit can be removed manually by pinching between 2 fingernails and pulling it off or using a "nit comb", available in most pharmacies. All members of the household need to be checked when there is a case of lice in the immediate family. Dear Parents and Guardians,
The current windstorm is creating safety issues and concerns with buses transporting students home from school and for students who walk home from school. The district is getting reports about downed power lines, road closures, and trees and large limbs blocking access.
Buses are operating normally, transporting high school students now, and middle school and elementary school students at their dismissal times.
We are concerned about students who walk home from school and those who walk to their homes or daycare after the bus delivers them to their bus stop. The potential for downed power lines, large limbs, and trees creates a hazard.
The bus drivers will do their best to transport students to their drop-off locations safely. However, there may be delays or the possibility of a road not being accessible. If a road has been closed or inaccessible, the bus will return students to their school, and the school will notify parents.
Parents/guardians have the option of picking up their child(ren) at school. If you change your child’s go-home plans, please make arrangements with the school.

Memorial Walk: Marysville Pilchuck High School, October 24, 2024
The 10-year mark of the tragedy leading to the loss of the young lives of Andrew, Shaylee, Gia, and Zoe at Marysville Pilchuck High School is approaching on October 24, 2024.
Uniting Stories, a Marysville-Tulalip Community Coalition, is coordinating a Memorial Walk on the campus in remembrance of the students lost and the many impacted by the tragedy.
Those interested in participating in the Memorial Walk are asked to gather on the field at Quil Ceda Stadium at 6:30 p.m. The walk will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will go from the stadium around the campus and back to the stadium. Quil Ceda Stadium is located on the Marysville Pilchuck High School campus at 5611 108th Street NE, Marysville, WA.
Parking is located in the front of the school and south and north of the stadium.
The Marysville Noon Rotary is providing mini-light candles. Please do not bring or ignite any wax or other ignitable candles to the event.

QCT families, This Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Legacy Commons next door to our school there will be an open community forum for families to learn more about the proposed school closures happening in Marysville School District in the 2025-2026 school year and give their input around this topic. It is important that the Quil Ceda Tulalip Elementary community voice is heard at this forum. Please consider attending and sharing your thoughts.
