Dear Marysville School District Families actively enrolled in Military Services/Armed Forces,
The purpose of this letter is to inform parents and guardians serving in the Military that it is time to submit the annual “Active Duty Military Information” form, also known as the “Federal Impact Aid Survey.”
What is Impact Aid?
Impact Aid is a Federal education program that reimburses school districts for the lost revenue and additional costs associated with the presence of nontaxable Federal property. Because most public school districts are funded largely through local taxes and fees, and because Federal land is exempt from taxation, as are many of the businesses and facilities located on that land, districts containing Federal property are financially disadvantaged in funding their schools.
Why is the Impact Aid Survey important?
Completing and returning this survey is important because it allows the school district to receive federal aid based on the number of military children attending the schools, directly impacting the quality of education your child receives. The funding associated with this program comes from the Department of Education and can only be applied to districts educating military or federal employee-related students. These forms are kept confidential and destroyed after validation through a federal audit of the district.
These dollars are used for a variety of school system expenses, including textbooks, athletic equipment, computers, school maintenance, repair, construction, bus operations, and employee salaries. In other words, this federal aid is meant to improve the educational experience of our children.
When do I need to complete the form?
Please complete the survey as soon as possible but no later than Friday, December 20, 2024. This brief return timeline will allow staff to meet the Department of Education's deadline. Completing and returning the Active Duty Military Information form is very important for the school system to receive the necessary funding to maintain and improve the quality of education for all students. Taking care of our family members is a top priority, and your cooperation supports this mission.
Where do I send the form once it is completed?

Download the form, print it, and turn it in to your child’s school or the Marysville School District office at 4220 80th Street NE, Marysville.
