July 7, 2020
Dear Marysville School District Families, Staff, and Community Members,
Our district is in the process of developing plans for the reopening of schools in September 2020. We will share information and future updates as available to keep you informed throughout the process. This June, the district assembled a core planning team to inform recommendations and guidance for the Marysville School District as we plan for the reopening of schools. This core team will work closely with a larger stakeholder planning group that will recommend a plan that best meets the values identified as our guiding principles for this work.
During the next few weeks, the core team and stakeholder group will continue to meet. In the coming days, we will send surveys to families and staff to gather additional feedback to inform our planning. Following the core team and planning group work during the month of July, a recommendation will be made to the school board at their first meeting in August. The school board will ultimately be responsible for adopting the reopening plan through a formal resolution.
Information and updates on our progress will be posted to the district website at www.msd25.org, on social media (Facebook and Twitter), and emailed directly to families and staff.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to develop our plan. It is our hope that all of our families and staff will take time this summer to refuel and energize. We look forward to seeing our students back this fall, even if it will look different than we are used to. Rest assured we are dedicated to creating the best educational experiences possible.
In partnership,
Jason Thompson, Superintendent
Marysville School District
