Marysville School District Summer Acceleration Academy

Marysville School District Summer Acceleration Academy 2024

The Marysville School District’s Summer Acceleration Academy (summer school) is designed to provide intensive literacy instruction and support to a select group of students who will benefit from additional learning opportunities.

The Summer Acceleration Academy provides classroom-based instruction for elementary and middle school students, with a focus on grades 2 and 6, students with special needs served with an Individual Student Education Plan (IEP) through the Extended School Year program (ESY), and high school students through credit retrieval and advance credit offerings.

Grades 2 and 6 and ESY
Students enrolled by invitation in grades 2 and 6 and ESY will attend classes beginning July 8 - July 31 at Marshall Elementary School, 4407 116th Street NE, Marysville. The Summer Acceleration Academy is made possible through limited funding specifically allocated for targeted interventions and services. Due to this, participation is by invitation only. Transportation will be provided if the assigned school is not within walking distance of your home. If families reside outside the district boundaries, transportation to summer school will be the parent or guardian's responsibility.

High School
High school credit retrieval and initial credit courses will be offered online. There will be two sessions, each eight days long, with session one beginning June 18 and session two beginning July 8. Classes will be held in the morning and afternoon.

A flat $50 fee will be charged for credit retrieval for up to four classes (2.0 credits), and it must be paid before the start of classes. If a student fails a class in session one and reattempts the class in session two, another $50 fee will apply.

A fee of $125 per class for initial credit will be charged for any first attempt at credit for PE, health, or an independent learning elective. Initial credit allows students to earn credit now in these areas, freeing them up to take other credit-earning classes during the school year.

Parents/guardians are asked to complete an interest poll before registering their high school student(s) for credit retrieval or initial credit courses. Click HERE to complete the poll no later than May 15. For those interested, parents/guardians will receive an online registration form along with payment information.
