10th Street Middle School to add a Choir Pathway

The Marysville School District is excited to announce that 10th Street Middle School  is adding a second pathway for incoming 6th-grade students.

Msvl. WA - 10th Street Middle School has been an option program in the Marysville School District since 1995. Next year, a new path to include choir will start at the school with the addition of a 6th-grade class for the upcoming 2024 - 2025 school year, with a three-year plan to expand the choir path to include grades 7 and 8 and add more openings for incoming students.

Students entering 6th grade will have two options. Option one is the band path - the original path at the school and option two will add the choir path - the new path for incoming 6th graders. Incoming 6th-grade students can apply for option one or option two. The original 10th Street pathway will feature band as their music course. The new path will feature choir.

Parents or guardians of students entering 6th grade must submit a transfer request and select the preferred pathway to request enrollment at the school. The district will publish the transfer request process soon. Electives are pre-determined based on the chosen pathway. The school will use a lottery system for student entry.

10th Street Middle School staff believe relationships are essential to learning and strive to keep the students with the same teachers through all three grade levels. The school’s core curriculum includes three years of music, visual creativity, and physical education, and it looks forward to introducing Spanish into the learning model in years two or three. 10th Street Middle School students participate in athletics through their boundary middle school. District transportation to and from school is provided.
