Who Qualifies?
The Summer Acceleration Academy (SAA) is made possible through limited funding specifically allocated for targeted interventions and services. Due to this, participation is by invitation only, and the focus is on instruction for 2nd and 6th-grade students. Parents of eligible students will receive an SAA Parent Letter from their home school.
When and Where?
Monday through Thursday – July 8th - July 31st; 8:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Marshall Elementary School – 4407 116th St NE, Marysville, WA, 98271
What does it cost? - The Summer Success Program is free for all qualifying students and is paid through state and federal grants.
What about meals and transportation?
Transportation will be provided if the assigned school is not within walking distance of your home.
If you currently reside outside of the district boundaries, transportation to summer school will be the family’s responsibility.
Breakfast and lunch will be free for all SAA students, ensuring that your child receives healthy meals throughout the program.
Expectations
Academic Expectations:
Students will be required to meet the program's academic expectations set by their teachers.
Students must maintain good attendance.
Behavior Standards:
Students are responsible for understanding and following all school rules and instructions given by staff, as outlined in the Student Support and Behavior Intervention Handbook.
Students must earn a minimum of S-satisfactory behavior in all of their classes. Students earning an N-needs improvement or U-unsatisfactory will work with administration and staff on interventions and supports.
Attendance:
Regular attendance and positive behavior are crucial for student success.
Due to limited resources and program capacity, the summer program is for students who have been specifically identified and invited.
To ensure fairness, an identified student will be unenrolled if ongoing attempts are made to bring uninvited individuals.
Commitment and Next Steps:
The program requires a full commitment from both students and families. Students must attend all program days and actively participate in learning activities. Parents/guardians are encouraged to communicate regularly with teachers and attend any scheduled meetings.
We believe the Summer Acceleration Academy will be a valuable learning experience for your child.
