Student In- and Out-of-District Transfer Request Process

March 1, 2025 - The in-district transfer request window is now open and closes on March 31, 2025 (June 1 for incoming Kindergarten) to apply for one of the district's choice/option schools, programs, or schools open to transfer requests.*

Transfers for the 2024 - 2025 (current) School Year are Now Closed:
For late-year transfers or extenuating circumstances, please email transfers@msd25.org or call (360) 965-0264.

2025 - 2026 (new) School Year:
The in-district transfer process for the new school year (2025-2026) is now open. The window to apply is March 1 - March 31 for grades 1 - 12 and March 1—June 1, 2025, for incoming Kindergarten students.

Schools and Programs OPEN for In-District Transfer for the 2025 - 2026 School Year:

  • Legacy High School (Grades 9 - 12)

  • Legacy Online (Grades 9 - 12)

  • Marysville Pilchuck High School (Grades 9 - 12)

  • Tulalip Heritage High School (Grades 9 - 12)

  • 10th Street Middle School (grades 6 - 8/band, and grades 6 & 7 for choir)

  • Totem Middle School (Grades 7 - 8)

  • Marysville Cooperative Education Program (Grades K - 6)

  • School to Home Partnership Program (SHoPP, Grades K - 8)

  • Open Doors Program (Grades 9 - 12)

Review and Notification Timeline:
Grades 1 - 12: Transfer requests received by the deadline for grades 1-12 (March 31, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.) will be reviewed by April 15, 2025.
Kindergarten: Transfer requests received by the deadline for Kindergarten (May 31, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.) will be reviewed by June 13, 2025.

Online In-District Transfer Form:
This form is for parents or guardians to request a transfer for their child to attend a school other than their designated boundary school. This form is also used for requests to attend one of our district programs, such as Marysville Cooperative Education Partnership (Co-Op), 10th Street Middle School, Legacy High School, Legacy Online, Heritage High School, School Home Partnership Program requests, or to be placed on the wait list for Open Doors.

Choice Transfers/Out-of-District Requests

Choice Transfer Request Form: If you reside outside of the Marysville School District boundary area, you will need to file an online ‘Choice Transfer Request’ at https://eds.ospi.k12.wa.us/ChoiceTransferRequest/.  Once on the form site, follow the directions outlined in the process. The Choice Transfer submission window for students requesting to attend the Marysville School District is March 1 - March 31. A new form is required each year.
