Supporting Ukrainian Students and Families

The Marysville School District welcomes students and families who have been displaced by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis.

In an effort to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment, we have put a process in place to best support our new students and their families:

  • Families are encouraged to register their child(ren) for school as soon as possible so schools and the district can provide necessary support where needed

  • Host families are asked to please assist in helping families get connected to their school(s)

  • Community members who know of displaced families can also help by connecting them to their school or the school district

For assistance, families, host families, or community members can contact the Marysville School District Russian/Ukrainian Family Engagement Specialist at (360) 965-0055, email svetlana_pasonok@msd25.org, or call the Russian Information Line at (360) 965-0253.

Once students are registered for school, staff will contact the Educational Service Center to help connect the families to resources.

How can our community help? You can help by donating new or gently used child-to teen-size clothing (new socks and undergarments only please), toiletries, school supplies, nutritious, non-perishable food items, or by making a financial donation to the McKinney Vento Trust for the Marysville School District’s Connection Center. Donations are being accepted at the Marysville School District Educational Service Center at 4220 80th Street NE, or at the upcoming I Have a Dream Multicultural Festival on May 14th, 11 am - 2 pm at the Marysville Pilchuck High School Campus. Questions about donating may be directed to Deanna Bashour, McKinney Vento and Foster Care Liaison at (360) 965-0049, or call or text (360) 913-1183.
