The resources on this page are designed to help parents with the Marysville School District (MSD) rollout of the HP Chromebooks. The Chromebook Student Parent Agreement can be turned in at the student's school. Additionally, parents can refer to Policy 2022P for guidance on responsible use of district resources including networks.

At the October 7th Parent Night in the Pilchuck Gym the guest speaker, Jeff Utecht, spoke about our role as parents of students in a 1:1 program. Jeff's message resonated with parents in attendance, and he provided a link to a written version of that message here: http://www.thethinkingstick.com/advice-for-parents-of-11-programs-2/

Marysville School District has filtering safeguards in place to help protect your child from harmful content while using the Chromebooks on our district networks and at home. No filter is 100% effective though. The Internet changes faster than filtering software can adapt. That's why we also work with each student to teach Internet safety and digital citizenship. MSD fully complies with the filtering requirements mandated by the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).  Parents can also refer to OnGuard Online.gov resources to learn more about keeping their kids safe online. OnGuardOnline.gov is the federal government’s website to help you be safe, secure and responsible online.

Additional Resources for Parents:

Parents and/or guardians who wish to opt out of the 1:1 initiative need to contact their student's school for more information.
